  I've been a member of Emerson for 15 years. I have had many opportunities to grow in this congregation and feel that it is my family. Now that we're meeting in a larger, handicapped accessible location, the possibilities are much expanded. We are a liberal, welcoming place where everyone is respected and honored. We laugh, we cry, we come together and are stronger for it.

  My family and I visited Emerson UUC for the first time in 2008. Since that time we have joined the congregation and become active members. This congregation of about 130 people exemplifies an inclusive and loving community. The values of Unitarian Universalism are alive here. Initially, my husband and I attended for the benefit of our children but we now also attend for our own benefit as well. Since our biological family lives out of town, Emerson UUC has become a much-needed second family to us and provides a "refuge" where people sharing our values congregate.

  Myself and my wife visited Emerson for a few months, and the congregation were indeed fairly pleasant, but they have a very heavy political siding and this spills into both the services and the activities. They were also none too friendly about a neighboring UU church. We were most disappointed.

  A great place for liberal religon in East Cobb. We have attended for a number of years and the congregation just keeps getting stronger. This small congregation is welcoming to everyone and does its best to live out the value of celebrating the inherent worth of all people. Our new minister joined in 2010 and has added a great deal to Emerson.
